PPD Feedback

In todays session we had our first ever peer assessment. I was very excited about this, since as much as I love the feedback I got from my toolbox assessment it didn’t give me a lot of pointers on what to improve. I worked with Vanya, which was fortunate, because we already knew, or at least had an idea of each other’s work and that helped when assessing. I always like giving feedback to people and I think I am fairly good at staying objective and giving solution orientated constructive criticism. I enjoy talking to other students about the projects, as it is something I always wanted to do but never could at home, because I was the only one interested in pursuing fashion or art as a career, so it’s been so incredibly refreshing to be able to talk to people that share that passion and feel like you are not boring them to death by talking about your projects.
The feedback that I got from Vanya was very nice but she still gave me a few pointers I think will be of use, like embracing my natural affinity for textual surface design more. Furthermore I thought that the idea of doing a postcard was super cute.
I did my research for two of the BAs so far, which are the main two options I am considering. Those two options being Textile Design: Embroidery and Design Development womenswear. I’m slowly realising that my preference in design is textual work so I think Textile Design: Embroidery would be a good fit for me but I’ll wait to see what the specialised pathway has to offer after break. I know from self assessment and feedback that I am also naturally good at print and more graphic design but it’s just not something I’m interested in pursuing on a larger scale.

If I end up going into textile I can already see Carlyn telling me “I told you so.” So there’s that
