Today was our first business session. I unfortunately arrived a few minutes late due to the tight scheduling and the fact that I live so far away (and the metro being late but whatever).
I really love doing moodboards so I had a great time. I just take a long time to format them for some reason so I had to sacrifice my break for that unfortunately, which is becoming an annoying pattern.
I think it’s Fascinating how everyone interpreted the hashtags so differently. For example the one I chose, #gardenparty. My mind went to cottage core, picnic baskets, and natural fibres and ended up with a lot of warm earthy tones and actually not that much green in my colour palette. While I saw someone else interpret in a totally different, featuring more flowers, greenery and fresh spring colours.
I didn’t think any of the things we discussed in class today were necessarily hard to understand or new to me. Nevertheless very interesting. I don’t plan to go into business but I think it’s important to have an understanding of this area in order to do well as a designer.
I liked the interactive group tasks those were fun and a good starting point to get into the topic.
I’m also glad I had my SDS research prepared very well, because it saved me a lot of typing and time in class.
Overall today was very very stressful and hectic but good. Though I think we would have been more chipper if the room wasn’t a literal fridge. By the end of the session a lot of students fingers were cramping, which made it hard to type.
